Job summary

Hanwha Q CELLS GA Plant is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to organize, control, and monitor purchasing activities for machine parts, MRO, and packaging. The role aims to introduce purchasing strategies that maximize operating results within a cross-functional team across Hanwha Group subsidiaries.

Responsibilities include tracking PO progress, SAP transactions, and coordinating with Finance on payments, while negotiating with overseas suppliers to optimize logistics and costs.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Korean proficiency is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 2–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing and/or procurement.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including areas not climate-controlled.

• Check PR/PO/GR in SAP and assist monthly AP closing.
• Determine purchase orders based on sales forecast and stock levels.
• Manage Goods Receipt and SAP-based transactions.
• Coordinate with Finance on payment and financial issues.
• Serve as key contact for inventory management and supplier coordination.
• Negotiate with overseas plants and markets to optimize logistics.
• Report annual expenditures and savings aligned to business plan.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on purchasing tasks.
• Oversee supplier performance on lead time, reliability, and flexibility.
• Support production planning and capacity optimization.
• Assist in inland and overseas transport optimization to cut costs.

SUMMARY

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing tasks for the Hanwha Q CELLS GA Plant. This individual will organize, control, and monitor purchasing activities of assigned materials, including machine parts, MRO, and packaging, and introduce purchasing strategies targeting maximum contribution to the operating result. This position will work in a cross‑functional team environment within the Hanwha Q CELLS GA Plant as well as other subsidiaries of the Hanwha Group.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of PO from creation to delivery
• Check PR/PO/GR in SAP. (Monthly AP Closing included)
• Determination of Purchase Orders based on the sales forecast and the stock level
• Goods Receipt, article creation and modification, system flow management, and other transactions in SAP
• Follow the payment and diverse financial issues with the Finance Department
• Key contact for coordination of actions for inventory management
• Out-of-stock and risk management with the concerned services. (quality, export service, packaging, marketing)
• Negotiate with overseas plants and markets and propose a logistic solution that meets the best to each part
• Report on annual expenditures and savings in line with the business plan
• Work closely with internal stakeholders regarding purchasing tasks
• Negotiate with external accounts for competitive unit prices and contract terms
• Supervise suppliers’ performance in the domain of lead time, reactivity, reliability, and flexibility
• Participate in the plant’s production plan and capacity optimization
• Participate in inland and overseas transport optimization to reduce the cost
• Manage purchasing tasks by types of suppliers to fit the materials’ properties
• Ensure a close relationship with the suppliers in other domains of machine parts management, lead‑time, expedition, and reception
• Intensive management of a supplier when an issue occurs to it
• Act as the Key Supply Chain Contact for the suppliers of the concerned scope
• Build a strong collaboration network with other supply chain services to obtain information and synchronize processes
• Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hanwha Q CELLS
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management

Required Qualifications

• Bilingual in Korean
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields
• 2~5 years of purchasing or procurement experience
• Strong knowledge of purchasing and/or procurement
• Ability to travel by car and travel overseas
• Able to work in a fast‑paced work environment, including in areas that are not climate‑controlled

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in Korean
• Experience in high‑tech manufacturing industry and startups
• Proficiency in Chinese, both spoken and written
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP
