Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Purchasing Specialist (I - Sr.) to manage supplier sourcing, create and negotiate POs, and ensure import/export compliance for our U.S. operations.

This on-site role reports to the Purchasing Manager and supports cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain performance. The position emphasizes data-driven purchasing, supplier onboarding, and timely contract review, with opportunities to participate in process improvements and 5S3R site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience.
• 0–7+ years of experience in customs compliance, purchasing, import/export operations, or supply chain management.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for purchasing and customs compliance activities to support operational and business objectives. This role is responsible for handling import/export compliance, customs regulations, supplier coordination, trade documentation, and purchasing operations while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and international trade regulations. You will support strategic sourcing initiatives, optimize operational efficiency, and collaborate with global headquarters and cross-functional teams to strengthen supply chain performance and business competitiveness.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
• 0-7 + years of experience in customs compliance, purchasing, import/export operations, or supply chain management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in manufacturing or automotive-related industries preferred
• Experience supporting global suppliers and cross-functional operations preferred
