Purchasing Project Manager - Recreational Marine Industry

Location: On-site in Georgia

Overview

We are seeking a Purchasing Project Manager to play a crucial role in creating value for members. This position is responsible for collecting data to issue Requests for Quotations, analyzing responses, negotiating terms, awarding packages, and supporting supplier engagement. The role will focus primarily on material programs, with involvement in non-material programs as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create RFQs and analyze supplier proposals.
  • Negotiate and create SOC Agreements.
  • Develop negotiation strategies in collaboration with leadership and committees.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies.
  • Assess and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Refine SOC Agreements to strengthen supplier and member commitments.
  • Manage supplier performance issues (warranty, defects, recalls).
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Present at Supply Chain and Board meetings.
  • Participate in trade shows (e.g., IBEX) and supplier meetings.
  • Support additional projects as assigned by leadership.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • Proven experience in supply chain procurement/management.
  • Strong project management and multitasking ability.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Office Suite.
  • Willingness to relocate to GA.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work on a small team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Marine industry experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cost savings.
  • CPSM certification (Certified Professional in Supply Management).
  • Ability to communicate across organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel.
