The ideal candidate has hands-on purchasing, planning, and inventory control experience in a manufacturing setting, with proficiency in Excel and supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 5+ years of purchasing, planning, inventory, or supply-chain experience in manufacturing.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of purchasing, production planning, inventory control, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials, components, supplies, and services to support production and operations.
• Review MRP reports, requisitions, inventory requirements, and production demand.
• Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Evaluate suppliers on pricing, quality, lead time, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate pricing and maintain productive supplier relationships.
• Maintain blanket PO's and monitor supplier performance.
• Resolve supplier issues including late deliveries, price discrepancies, RMAs, and credits.
• Maintain Kanban systems within a Lean manufacturing environment.
• Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, Kanban replenishment, and material staging.
• Perform cycle counts and support physical inventory audits.
• Investigate inventory and purchase-price variances and optimize material flow.
