Silgan Closures in Richmond, IN is seeking a Purchasing & Parts Attendant to manage inventory, procure maintenance supplies, and ensure parts are available for production. You will work with maintenance, engineering, operations, and accounting to optimize stock levels and supplier relationships.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely procurement, and cross-functional collaboration to keep the plant running smoothly and safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, inventory control, warehouse operations, or materials management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience using ERP, inventory management, or purchasing systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to identify maintenance parts and components.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchase, track, and maintain inventory of maintenance parts, consumables, and plant supplies.
• Create and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
• Receive, inspect, store, and issue parts and materials to support maintenance and production operations.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP and inventory management systems.
• Coordinate with vendors, manage deliveries, and support vendor-managed inventory programs.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify replenishment needs to prevent downtime.
• Review equipment documentation and part specifications to source replacements.
• Perform administrative and inventory-related activities using Microsoft Office and purchasing systems.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, accounting, and operations teams to support plant needs.
