Vice President– Procurement & Supply Chain Solutions Recruitment at DSJ Global

A rapidly growing global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions and construction is looking for a Procurement Manager. This role will be overseeing multiple US plants, leading procurement functions for raw materials, packaging, and support indirect categories. This role will also be a team leader with a strong pipeline for growth into a Director level. The ideal candidate will have a background in global sourcing chemicals (solvents, adhesives, etc) and team leadership experience.

About the Role:

  • Oversee the planning, purchasing, storage, and movement of direct and indirect materials, as well as finished goods, across multiple plants in the US
  • Ensure materials are available in the right quantities, at the right time, and at the right cost to support plant operations.
  • Optimize inventory levels and manage material flow to align with production needs.
  • Collaborate with Procurement Category Managers to execute sourcing strategies, manage contracts, and monitor supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement of raw materials and supplies based on production forecasts and inventory targets.
  • Ensure purchase order accuracy and resolve issues related to pricing, quantity, or delivery discrepancies.
  • Monitor supplier performance and document compliance issues using internal quality processes.
  • Support the development and maintenance of rolling SKU forecasts and escalate critical supply gaps as needed.
  • Handle procurement of facility-related supplies, services, and leased equipment.
  • Analyze spend data and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Direct MRO purchases and manage storeroom inventory and replenishment.
  • Support capital expenditure projects in coordination with Engineering and Corporate Procurement.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely invoice processing.
  • Initiate and manage contracts, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with procurement policies.
  • Lead local RFx processes and work with Logistics to determine cost-effective delivery options.

Cost Savings & Reporting:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Provide visibility into inbound material flows and report savings in line with category guidelines.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to address vendor quality issues and support vendor rating systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, R&D, Logistics, and Operations.

Compliance & Inventory Management:

  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards, and internal controls.
  • Lead inventory management activities including cycle counts, physical inventories, and warehouse validations.
  • Ensure purchase orders follow the appropriate authority schedule and documentation standards.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships in alignment with Category Managers.
  • Track supplier performance using KPIs and resolve delivery or invoicing issues.
  • Utilize visual management and Kanban systems to manage material flow and address shortages or overages.
  • Maintain accurate ERP data including part numbers, BOMs, routings, and vendor records.
  • Oversee purchase order accuracy, confirmations, and closure of obsolete or partial orders.

Inventory Oversight:

  • Manage material flow through the facility using 5S and Kanban methodologies.
  • Conduct frequent cycle counts and support third-party physical inventory audits.
  • Coordinate material returns and perform inventory analysis to set Kanban thresholds.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations.
  • Preferred certifications: CPM or APICS.
  • Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and Ariba.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
