We are a well-established electrical contracting company specializing in high-end residential projects. With a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and procuring electrical materials, tools, and equipment required for our projects. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical components, strong vendor negotiation skills, and the ability to manage warehouse operations and a delivery driver efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and experienced in the electrical contracting industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase electrical materials, tools, and equipment at the best value without compromising quality.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Track inventory levels and manage reordering processes to ensure material availability.
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, organizing, and staging materials for job sites.
- Supervise and coordinate the schedules of delivery drivers to ensure timely job site deliveries.
- Maintain and update purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and foremen to forecast material needs and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Ensure proper storage of materials and tools, and uphold warehouse safety and cleanliness standards.
- Assist in resolving any issues related to delayed shipments, backorders, or material discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–5 years of purchasing experience within the electrical contracting or related construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical materials, components, and tools.
- Proven ability to manage warehouse operations and logistics.
- Experience working with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
