Job summary

Champion Home Builder, Inc is seeking a Full-Time Purchasing Manager in Millen, Georgia. You will direct and coordinate purchasing and distribution of materials, enter data into Navision, and supervise storeroom staff to ensure timely delivery of supplies.

The role requires strong data accuracy, ERP experience, and collaboration with finance and suppliers to optimize procurement and costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years in a Material Manager role incl. Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production Planning, Shipping and Receiving
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
• Understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems
• Understanding of forecasting and budgeting
• Able to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure
• Experience with an ERP system; Navision knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates purchasing and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Enter information into Navision and validate its correctness.
• Supervise storeroom and central supply personnel handling receiving, issuing, and delivering.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices based on inventory needs.
• Review contracts, bids, and vendor agreements for policy conformance and pricing.
• Oversee procurement from intent to purchase through delivery of goods.
• Interface with corporate purchasing on supplier issues and provide feedback on quality.
• Collaborate with Finance to ensure policy compliance as applicable.
• Engage with suppliers on invoice and payment issues.

Summary

Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in the plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the implementation of the corporate contracts. Enter information into Navision and validating its correctness.
• Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of storeroom and central supply personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.
• Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices based on inventory needs after an inventory is taken.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
• Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
• Interface with corporate purchasing on supplier problems and give feedback on supplier quality. Update corporate purchasing on new products used and specification changes.
• Work with Controller to make sure the Finance Policy 2100 is followed.
• Work with suppliers on invoice and payment issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Purchasing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience of 8-10 year's working Material Manager role including each of the reporting areas, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production Planning, and Shipping and Receiving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel.
• Understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
• Understanding of forecasting and budgeting
• Must be able to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
• Prior experience utilizing an ERP system and knowledge of the Navision ERP system is a plus.

Education And/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
