AEP Service Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead enterprise-level purchasing, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationships across multiple business units. You will mentor professionals, drive continuous improvement, and ensure governance and risk compliance within a large, complex organization.

The role requires extensive experience in sourcing, negotiations, and cross-functional leadership, with a track record of delivering value and partnering with executives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study + 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Or In lieu of Bachelor’s degree must possess an Associate’s degree in related field of study, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Or In lieu of Associate’s degree must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible purchasing or supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex sourcing initiatives, enterprise negotiations, and cross functional teams.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive results across multiple business units.
  • Experience with Maximo, Ariba, Celonis, and/or Agiloft

Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise level leadership for highly complex, high value, and mission critical purchasing activities across multiple business units.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for purchasing strategy, supplier performance issues, and contract negotiations.
  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise sourcing strategies, including competitive sourcing events, long term agreements, and supplier consolidation initiatives.
  • Drive complex, high impact negotiations involving pricing, commercial terms, risk allocation, and performance commitments.
  • Ensure sourcing strategies align with financial objectives, risk management standards, and operational requirements.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Category Management to ensure alignment on contracts, specifications, and commercial strategy.
  • Lead and influence cross functional teams without direct authority to achieve purchasing and sourcing objectives.
  • Provide executive level oversight of critical and strategic supplier relationships.
  • Guide supplier performance management frameworks, including scorecards, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support supplier innovation, value creation, and long term partnership development.
  • Mentor Purchasing Analyst, Senior, and Principal level professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of purchasing standards, best practices, and knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance purchasing processes, tools, and governance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate purchasing policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Support enterprise initiatives related to cost optimization, risk mitigation, supplier diversity, and operational resilience.
