Position: Purchasing Coordinator

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Job Objective

Responsible for South region inventory replenishment functions of nonfuel inventoried items, ensuring customer needs are met efficiently, timely, and courteously while maintaining optimal fill rates and inventory levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform inventory replenishment and place special orders for regional warehouses.
• Ensure timely input of purchase orders with accurate product, price, freight, and plant details.
• Coordinate transportation needs for intercompany and vendor purchase orders with logistics.
• Manage non-stock and obsolete inventory out of system before end-of-life date.
• Source and expedite special orders as needed.
• Resolve purchase order pricing discrepancies and vendor service issues.
• Maintain inventory levels within the region and company.
• Support purchasing lead and region with special requests.
• Review open purchase orders weekly and develop corrective action plans for customer back orders.
• Ensure all master cost files are current and handle defective inventory and returns promptly.

Additional Responsibilities

• Represent the company professionally, ensuring quality customer service.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety rules, and regulations.
• Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives.
• Complete annual product technical training.
• Assist in conducting physical inventories; some regional travel may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Industry familiarity and knowledge of commonly used materials preferred.
• Purchasing experience and SAP knowledge strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze numbers and handle stress effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/Inventory systems such as DM2, Sage, or Inventory Advisor.
