Starflex Fabrication is seeking a dependable Purchasing Coordinator to manage procurement for our manufacturing operation in College Park, GA. This hands-on role involves reviewing production requirements, issuing POs, tracking deliveries, and communicating shortages before they impact production.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
• Ability to read and understand purchase requirements, part numbers, material specifications, quantities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for the facility, including reviewing production requirements and MRP data to identify material needs.
• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders.
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure materials arrive when required.
• Communicate material shortages, delivery delays, back orders, and other supply concerns before they affect production.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations for pricing, availability, lead time, and freight.
• Collaborate with suppliers to maintain competitive pricing and reliable delivery performance.
• Coordinate purchasing requirements with Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Accounting.
• Verify purchased materials meet specifications and quantities.
• Assist with resolving receiving discrepancies, incorrect shipments, and supplier quality issues.
• Maintain purchasing information, supplier records, pricing, and lead times within the MRP system.

Starflex Fabrication is seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to manage purchasing activities supporting our manufacturing operation.This position will be responsible for the procurement of all materials, components, supplies, and consumables required to keep production running. The ideal candidate understands that purchasing in a manufacturing environment is more than placing purchase orders—it requires monitoring material requirements, maintaining supplier relationships, tracking deliveries, controlling costs, and communicating potential shortages before they impact production.Experience in sheet metal fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment is a strong plus.**Key Responsibilities**Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for the facility, including:Review production requirements and MRP data to identify material and purchasing needs.Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders.Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure materials arrive when required.Communicate material shortages, delivery delays, back orders, and other supply concerns before they affect production.Obtain and compare supplier quotations for pricing, availability, lead time, and freight.Collaborate with suppliers to maintain competitive pricing and reliable delivery performance.Coordinate purchasing requirements with Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Accounting.Verify purchased materials and components meet required specifications, quantities, and revisions.Assist with resolving receiving discrepancies, incorrect shipments, damaged material, and supplier quality issues.Maintain accurate purchasing information, supplier records, pricing, and lead times within the MRP system.Monitor inventory levels of commonly used production supplies and consumables.Identify opportunities for cost savings, improved lead times, supplier consolidation, and inventory reduction.Support supplier evaluation and purchasing documentation requirements associated with Starflex Fabrication's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.**Qualifications**Previous purchasing, procurement, buyer, or material planning experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems required.Experience with ProfitFab is highly preferred.Sheet metal fabrication, metalworking, or structural fabrication experience is a strong plus.Familiarity with purchasing carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, structural materials, hardware, and manufacturing consumables is preferred.Ability to read and understand purchase requirements, part numbers, material specifications, quantities, and basic manufacturing documentation.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open purchase orders and priorities simultaneously.Strong supplier communication and follow-up skills.Comfortable obtaining competitive quotations and negotiating pricing, lead times, freight, and delivery requirements.Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer applications.Must be proactive and able to identify potential shortages or supply issues before they disrupt production.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.**What We Offer**Full-time, hourly position4-day regular workweek: Monday through ThursdayOvertime on Friday as neededMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchShort-term and long-term disability insurance paid 100% by the companyLife insurance paid 100% by the companyCompensation based on experience**About the Position**This is a hands-on purchasing position supporting a fast-paced fabrication environment.
