Job summary

Darling Ingredients maintains all parts areas and inventory on a daily basis and assists in ordering parts, supplies, and equipment. This is a 2nd Shift position.

Responsibilities include barcoding, inventory control, and keeping areas clean, with heavy lifting and operation of rental machinery as needed to support Production.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write.
• Excellent attendance is required.
• Computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of how to use parts catalogs.
• Ability to use a calculator for basic math.
• Must be able to climb 1–2 flights of stairs frequently.
• Able to lift 75 lbs.
• Able to operate a Bob Cat/case loader and forklift and other rental machinery.
• Must be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision.
• Maintain safe work practices and awareness of hazards.

• Ordering and receiving parts and equipment.
• Keeping the supply area clean and orderly.
• Complete all paperwork daily.
• Bar code and label parts upon arrival.
• Arrange and store parts in appropriate bins.
• Order parts when needed and ensure stock is in designated locations.
• Maintain inventory records and assist in month-end reporting.
• Count and maintain boiler fuel inventory for Production Dept when needed.

Job Summary

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Bar coding parts and putting on shelf and keeping an accurate inventory


• Ordering and receiving parts and equipment


• Keeping supply area's clean and orderly


• Complete all paperwork daily


• All parts areas are to be kept neat and clean.


• Bar code and label parts upon arrival.


• Arrange and store parts in appropriate bins.


• Order parts when needed and ensure stock is in appropriate and designated location.


• Keep accurate inventory records and assist in completing month-end reports, enter inventory count in automated system.


• Count and maintain boiler fuel inventory and other crucial items expected to be in stock and available for use by Production Dept when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.

• Ability to use a calculator to perform addition and subtraction functions.


• Must be able to climb 1 to 2 flights of stairs frequently.


• Ability to lift 75 lbs.


• Able to operate a "Bob Cat"/case loader and forklift and other rental machinery


• Maintain all working areas by keeping them clean and neat at all times


• Must be a self-starter and operate this department with a minimum of supervision


• Able to assess a situation and formulate a proper course of action


• Use equipment in a safe manner as instructed by management


• Work safely and observe all safety rules


• Hazards may and include, but are not limited to cuts, burns, slips and trips

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be willing to work all shifts, over-time and weekends as needed.


• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
