Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a Purchasing Agent to manage procurement activities and ensure efficient, cost‑effective purchasing aligned with company needs. The role partners with vendors, internal departments, inventory teams, and operations to maintain stock levels and timely product availability.

You will source suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, process orders, and monitor inventory with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience preferred.
  • Experience in distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or wholesale environments preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze inventory data, pricing, and vendor information.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/purchasing/inventory systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Coordinate with receiving, warehouse, accounting, and operations for fulfillment.
  • Review invoices and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with inventory management initiatives and process improvements.

Job description

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing procurement activities to ensure materials, products, and supplies are purchased efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in alignment with company needs. This role works closely with vendors, internal departments, inventory teams, and operations to maintain appropriate stock levels, negotiate pricing, and support timely product availability.

  • Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to determine purchasing needs.
  • Review demand forecasts, sales trends, and inventory reports to support purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and agreements with suppliers.
  • Track orders from placement through delivery and resolve any issues related to shortages, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Research new products, suppliers, and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and documentation.
  • Partner with receiving, warehouse, accounting, and operations teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Review invoices and resolve purchasing discrepancies when needed.
  • Assist with inventory management initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications
