Role summary: Responsible for securing (onboarding and setting up) suppliers, issuing purchase orders for shop supplies and project related work, and assisting with production-related materials. Works closely with Buyers and cross-functional teams to articulate G&W requirements with the supplier base to achieve a positive outcome.

Responsibilities

• Issue Purchase Orders for MRO/Indirect requisitions, quotes, and MRP related purchases
• Consult catalogs (online resources) and other references to obtain prices and specifications
• Follow up with suppliers on late POs and expedites as necessary
• Onboard new suppliers as needed
• Manage VMI program for MRO/Indirect category
• Assist buyers with maintaining data; delivery dates, pricing, etc. in ERP system
• Communicate and distribute order confirmation details to functional team members
• Handle moderately complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff

Qualifications

• Holds an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, work experience and skill development required
• Has experience in manufacturing environment
• Has good computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
• Possesses strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Has good problem-solving skills
• Has the ability to negotiate delivery dates and pricing with suppliers
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English

Physical demands

• Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs. or less)
• Prolonged computer usage

Pay Range is typically between $46,945 – 57,503 annually
