Job summary

Riverside Casino & Golf Resort in Iowa is seeking a procurement assistant to manage vendor relationships, process purchase orders, and support cost-control initiatives.

The role requires proficiency with MS Office, familiarity with Red Rock, strong communication, teamwork, and high integrity. This is a full-time position with occasional weekends and holidays; salary ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 per year, DOE.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional guest service to all customers.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with other departments.
• Knowledge of all levels of purchasing operations.
• Ability to learn and use Red Rock system.
• Send purchase order information to vendors and departments.
• Investigate and document price variances between PO and vendor confirmation; propose alternatives.
• Follow up on overdue purchase orders weekly.
• Work with Accounts Payable on invoice variances.
• Maintain Vendor and Item Master files in Red Rock.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain highest levels of integrity and honesty with supplier relationships.

Essential Functions

• Provide exceptional guest service to all customers.
• Develop and maintain professional relationship with vendors. Keep informed about new products, processes and recommend those that could be beneficial to the company.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationship with all other department’s personnel, including Food & Beverage outlet managers and department directors.
• Knowledge of all levels of purchasing operations.
• Ability to learn and use Red Rock system.
• Send purchase order information to vendors and departments.
• Investigate and document price variances between purchase order and vendor confirmation. Where applicable, provide alternative product/ vendor solutions.
• Follow up on overdue purchase orders weekly.
• Work with Accounts Payable on invoice variances.
• Maintain Vendor and Item Master files in Red Rock.
• Other duties as assigned.
• This position has access to sensitive company cost information and files and also has the responsibility to maintain arms-length supplier relationships -- therefore, the highest levels of integrity and honesty are essential.
