Job summary

Elite Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Assistant/Buyer Assistant in Oakbrook, IL to support the Buyer/Sr. Buyer in all Purchasing activities. The role focuses on strategic sourcing projects aimed at cost reduction, data entry, PO processing, and supplier negotiations.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in an assistant category manager role or related sourcing initiatives, and strong MS Excel skills. The position offers 8am–5pm hours in Illinois with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or +3 years’ experience equivalent.
• 2 to 3 years experience as an assistant category manager or involved in project-based strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Intermediate to advanced MS excel

Responsibilities

• Assist the Buyer/Sr. Buyer in all aspects of Purchasing.
• Conduct detailed analyses to support sourcing decisions and savings projections.
• Data entry, manage daily activities; sample tracking, item setup, PO tracking, QA/QC follow-up.

Purchasing Assistant/Buyer Assistant

The assistant would be responsible for assisting the Buyer/Sr. Buyer in all aspects of Purchasing. The assistant will help managing strategic sourcing projects from beginning to end with the ultimate objective of reducing costs for the company.

Job Duties:

• Conduct detailed analyses to support the buyers sourcing decisions and savings projections 1
• Data Entry, Structure and manage daily activities; sample tracking, item set-up (BAAN/Cost System), system record accuracy (BAAN/Cost System), Purchase Order Tracking, Measuring approval samples to specs before giving to designer to approve.
• Support the buyer Tracking vendor spend
• Maintain tools and processes to monitor internal/external compliance
• Support the buyer in negotiations/communication with new and prospective suppliers
• Assist with samples, filing, etc.
• Develop deep understanding of categories being sourced
• Write Purchase Orders and prepare supporting materials
• Handle inspection requests/reports, samples, data and QA- QC Buyer assist follow up
• Filing PO’s, component art and Gift Worksheets

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or +3 years’ experience equivalent
