Cavco Manufacturing LLC is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support procurement of raw materials, equipment, and supplies to meet production needs. The role involves reviewing requisitions, coordinating with vendors on price and delivery, and preparing purchase orders with attention to accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years in purchasing or costing, strong detail orientation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of work experience in purchasing and/or costing.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and organization in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and typical purchasing software is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Review requisitions and confirm specifications for purchases.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain price, delivery, and availability.
• Prepare purchase orders and bid requests; verify bills against PO and bids.
• Maintain procurement records including costs, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Expedite delivery and meet production requirements while controlling inventory levels.

The Purchasing Assistant coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies, and purchases all inventory to meet production requirements by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews requisitions.
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• Prepares invoices for payment.
• Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
• Counts inventory items to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
• Prepares purchase orders and sends to supplier and department originating request.
• Computes total cost of items purchased.
• Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
• Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approves bills for payment.
• Expedites delivery of goods to users.
• Meets production requirements on a daily basis while controlling inventory levels with various lead times.
• Assists heavily with periodic plant inventory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• At least three years of work experience in purchasing and/or costing
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrate a good work ethic based on principles of honesty and integrity.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
