Job summary

Blake’s Lotaburger is seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator to manage purchasing of food and nonfood items for distribution to stores. The role includes quality control and inventory management under the Distribution and Purchasing Manager’s supervision.

The ideal candidate supports accurate purchase orders, timely invoicing, and maintains inventory levels while performing daily quality checks on perishable items and reporting on shortages.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Knowledge of foodservice and food safety regulations is preferred.
• Strong organizational and attention to detail are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing purchase orders to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
• Assist with receiving paperwork to ensure invoices are processed correctly and on time.
• Maintain acceptable levels of product in each assigned pick slot.
• Perform daily date checks and pull outdated products.
• Perform daily quality inspections for perishable items.
• Communicate with the Distribution and Purchasing Manager on perishable items.
• Perform full inventory and cycle counts as needed.
• Prepare reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
• Prepare a list of depleted items and recommend surveys of unusable items.
• Assist with daily and quarterly uniform distribution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

This Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for purchasing food and nonfood items for distribution to Blake’s Lotaburger stores. The purchasing coordinator will perform other essential functions such as quality control and inventory management under the supervision of the Distribution and Purchasing Manager.

Essential Functions:

• Must exemplify Blake’s Lotaburger Core Values of Kind, Team, Passion, Process in all responsibilities and interactions
• Assist with processing purchase orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
• Assist with receiving paperwork to ensure invoices are processed correctly and on time.
• Maintain acceptable levels of product in each assigned pick slot.
• Perform daily date checks and pull all outdated products.
• Perform daily quality inspections for all perishable items.
• Communicate daily with the Distribution and Purchasing Manager on all issues related to perishable items.
• Perform full inventory and cycle counts as needed.
• Prepare reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
• Prepare a list of depleted items and recommend a survey of defective or unusable items.
• Assist with daily and quarterly uniform distribution.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications/Requirements (Education/Training/Experience/Abilities):

• Basic computer skills i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of foodservice and food safety regulations
• Knowledge of warehouse inventory and software systems
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• Must be highly organized and pay attention to detail
• Must be neat and clean in appearance
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and MVR check

Essential Physical/Emotional Requirements:

• Ability move/lift up to 50lbs unassisted up and down a ramp.
• Must be able to stand, climb, bend and stoop for extended periods of activity
• Regular exposure to weather conditions
• Must be able to talk and hear
• Operation of company motor vehicles
• The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to multitask and work under stressful conditions and tolerate a reasonable amount of stress.
• Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations using tactful, appropriate, and effective communication
