Job summary

D&B Supply in Caldwell, Idaho is seeking a Data Analyst to provide insights across the company, focusing on sales, inventory, profitability and other key metrics. You will work with the Purchasing team to analyze data and deliver actionable recommendations that support our store network.

The role involves maintaining regular reports, presenting findings to buyers and management, and helping forecast demand and pricing for promotions.

Qualifications

• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills along with strong analytical, organizational and computer skills.
• Report writing and presentation experience preferred, not required.
• Experience in SQL querying/database language preferred, not required.
• Experience in visualization tools/platforms such as Domo, Power BI, or Tableau preferred, not required.
• Technical expertise in data mining, data segmentation, solid reporting techniques, and communications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, analyze, and provide established recurring reports used by the Purchasing team, other departments, and management.
• Gather, clean, interpret data and present findings to relevant purchasing team members and management.
• Provide and present recommended forecasts to buyers and management.
• Monitor and analyze margin and sales data.
• Identify trends and patterns in data.
• Collaborate with purchasing team members to communicate findings, discuss recommendations, and identify opportunities for action.
• Support buyers and management with established needs and goals.
• Review processes and offers to ensure accurate and successful pricing and event development for marketing flyers and promotional events.
• Other analytical duties pertaining to the procurement of products, goods or services as assigned by area manager/director.

Job Summary

Provide data analysis and insights for departments across the company to help teams make informed decisions that support company success and meet our customers’ needs. This position primarily works with the Purchasing team members to analyze sales, inventory, profitability, and other business metrics. The position will work closely with the team and communicate findings and recommendations. This is a salary position starting at $50,000 per year, with compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Required Knowledge and Skills

Experience in SQL querying/database language preferred, not required. Experience in visualization tools/platforms such as Domo, Power BI, or Tableau preferred, not required. Technical expertise in data mining, data segmentation, solid reporting techniques, and communications preferred.

Required Experience

At least 2 years' experience as an analyst in an established organization is preferred.

Required Education/Certification

Associates or bachelor’s degree in business or related field; or equivalent experience preferred, not required. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Other Requirements

Must be able to spend many hours a day working at a computer.
