Amcor Flexibles, LLC is seeking a Purchasing Agent focused on MRO spend to support maintenance across multiple manufacturing sites within the North America Rigid Packaging Solutions group. You will drive cost savings, maintain optimal MRO inventories, and ensure timely parts availability to keep production running.

The role emphasizes supplier relationship management, adherence to procurement policies, and collaboration with plant teams to standardize parts and optimize costs.

Job Description

As a Purchasing Agent focused on Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Spend at Amcor, you will play a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing operations across multiple sites within the Rigid Packaging Solutions North America business group. In this role, you will manage the procurement of MRO materials, spare parts, and consumables, for approximately five to twelve manufacturing facilities. By leveraging Amcor's global, national, and regional agreements, you will drive cost savings, improve inventory performance, and ensure the timely availability of critical parts and services needed to maintain production continuity.

Key Responsibilities

MRO Inventory Management & Planning

• Analyze purchasing analysis reports, equipment criticality, historical usage, and consumption trends to establish appropriate stocking strategies for MRO materials and spare parts.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels for critical and non-critical maintenance items.
• Support inventory reduction initiatives by identifying excess, obsolete, and slow-moving MRO inventory.

MRO Procurement Execution

• Source and procure MRO spare parts, maintenance supplies, plant consumables, tools, and maintenance services in accordance with approved supplier agreements and procurement policies.
• Create and manage purchase orders while ensuring compliance with negotiated pricing, lead times, and contract terms.
• Expedite critical orders and manage emergency sourcing activities to support unplanned equipment repairs and minimize operational disruptions.
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively resolve issues related to availability, pricing, quality, lead times, and delivery performance.

Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Serve as the primary procurement liaison between the sites & suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Plant personnel, MRO suppliers, distributors, and OEMs.
• Manage supplier-related quality and service issues.
• Support the qualification and standardization of MRO products and spare parts across sites.

Reliability, Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization

• Identify and implement MRO cost reduction initiatives, including supplier consolidation, part standardization, inventory optimization, and alternative sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate with suppliers to implement vendor-managed inventory (VMI), consignment programs, and other inventory efficiency solutions.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement processes, inventory accuracy, and maintenance support capabilities.

Compliance, Data Management & Best Practices

• Maintain accurate supplier pricing, catalog information, and MRO master data to support purchasing activities, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with Amcor procurement policies, help enforce supplier agreements, and inventory management.
• Support spend analysis, reporting, and category management activities for assigned MRO categories.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide backup support for other purchasing agents and procurement team members as needed.
• Participate in cross-functional projects supporting maintenance excellence, operational efficiency, and supply chain/OPS improvement initiatives.
• Support plant shutdowns and major maintenance events by coordinating the timely procurement and delivery of required materials and services.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a business-related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior experience in procurement or supply chain strongly preferred.
