Job summary

Supply New England is a well-established company providing plumbing, heating, cooling and generator equipment to contractors. We are seeking a full-time Purchasing Agent at our Corporate Office in Attleboro, MA to manage procurement for wholesale operations and maintain optimal inventory levels.

The role requires evaluating vendors, negotiating pricing, tracking lead times and coordinating with warehouse, sales and finance to meet business goals while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of purchasing experience.
• Experience in plumbing, heating, HVAC or electrical industries preferred.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing terminology and practices.
• Proficient with MS Office; Eclipse knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders with accurate pricing, quantities and delivery dates.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers; resolve back orders and pricing issues.
• Monitor vendor performance and participate in vendor reviews.

We are looking for a full-time delivery driver to join our team. We welcome entry-level drivers with a strong desire to learn and develop as well as seasoned drivers.

Summary/Objective
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing the procurement of products to support the company’s wholesale operations. This role ensures timely and cost-effective purchasing, maintains optimal inventory levels, and builds strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery performance.

• Issue purchase orders and ensure accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
• Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and troubleshoot issues such as back orders, pricing discrepancies, and delivery delays.

• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve quantity/quality discrepancies.
• Work closely with sales, operations, and finance to understand stock needs and support business goals.
• Monitor product availability, lead times, freight costs, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing files, and vendor database.
• Communicate directly with the Director with updates regarding stock inflow and outflow.
• Compile inventory data and present it to the Director for effective decision making.
• Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers.
• Resolve discrepancies and process returns.
• Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with U.S. laws.
