Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Purchasing Agent to ensure hospitals receive the supplies and equipment needed to care for patients. You will coordinate daily workflow, negotiate vendor contracts, manage purchase orders, and maintain inventory logs to keep costs in check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's preferred.
• 2-3 years hospital supply and purchasing management preferred.
• Previous management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily workflow for efficient department operations.
• Negotiate prices and contracts with outside vendors.
• Manage hospital supply purchase orders.
• Maintain documentation and inventory logs per policy.
• Perform physical inventory as required.
• Review and update departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain par levels and optimize costs.
• Manage inventory to reduce costs of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain daily rental equipment log.
• Process invoices with accounts payable promptly.

• Manage the purchase order process for hospital supplies.

• Maintain and manage purchasing process to ensure that par levels are consistently met.
• Manage inventory to optimize the cost of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a daily rental equipment log.
• Order medical and clinical supplies for the hospital.
• Forward all invoices to accounts payable for timely processing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of hospital supply and purchasing management preferred.
• Previous management/supervisory experience preferred.
