Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a detail‑oriented Purchasing Coordinator at one of our hospitals to manage requisitions, purchase orders, and inventory across departments. You will ensure timely procurement of essential medical and clinical supplies to keep operations running smoothly.

In this role you will negotiate with vendors, monitor stock levels, and collaborate with departments to support efficient patient care and service delivery. A focus on accuracy and timeliness will drive success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–3 years hospital supply and purchasing management experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process hospital and departmental requisitions and purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels as per hospital procedures while controlling supplies and equipment for all hospital departments.
• Negotiate prices and contracts with outside vendors as required.
• Order medical and clinical supplies for the hospital.
• Oversee the purchase order process for hospital supplies.
