Job summary

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support our product operations by handling day-to-day procurement, PO placement, and material planning at the Enterprise Modernization Center. You will work with purchasing and production teams to move customer orders efficiently.

This hands-on role suits someone early in a supply chain career who wants exposure to hardware manufacturing in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional supply chain education is a plus.
  • Understanding of purchasing, procurement, materials planning, and inventory control.
  • Strong attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with computer systems for data entry, inventory management, and communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders, sales orders, and related documentation in accordance with company procurement procedures.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers on quarterly pricing and lead-time updates.
  • Accurately input and maintain inventory, purchase order, and supply chain records in the company's inventory management system.
  • Review and verify data for accuracy and completeness on a recurring basis.
  • Maintain organized records of supply chain transactions, documents, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
  • Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Partner with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with sales, program, production, and logistics teams to support material flow.
  • Communicate delivery delays or supply chain issues to the Product Operations team promptly.
  • Escalate complex or high-dollar issues to the Purchasing Manager or Director of Product Operations.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards across all supply chain activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve supply chain processes.
  • Support special projects, audits, and other supply chain tasks as assigned.

Position Overview:

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is looking to hire a Purchasing Agent to support our product operations division by executing the day to day procurement and material planning activities that keep customer orders moving. Working alongside the purchasing and production teams at our Enterprise Modernization Center, you will place and track purchase orders, maintain accurate inventory and supplier data, and coordinate the inbound flow of material required to build and deliver our products. Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain management is a plus.
  • Understanding of purchasing, procurement, buying, materials planning, inventory control, or a comparable supply chain function.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage various tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and systems for data entry, inventory management, and communication.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Understanding of supply chain processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP or MRP system
  • Experience purchasing electronic components, IT hardware, or manufacturing materials.
  • Familiarity with a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Exposure to government contracting or DoD supply chain requirements (FAR/DFARS, supply chain risk management).
