• Sort and file documents to keep information accessible.
• Analyze data and trends to provide purchasing planning and control information.
• Follow department processes for organization and data management.

Pay: $24-$26/hour based on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Job Description

MMR is seeking Purchasing Agent candidates. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following:

• Evaluating suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria
• Interviewing vendors and visiting suppliers' facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing
• Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company
• Verifying purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products
• Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors
• Authorizing payments and maintain receipts, records, and inventories
• Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
• Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents
• Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
• Follows and provides feedback on processes set forth by department for organization and data management

Required Skills and Qualifications

• BS degree in related field preferred
• 3-5 years relevant work experience required
• Experience in procurement within a construction setting preferred
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
• Ability to coordinate a variety of project simultaneously
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity
• Working knowledge of MS Office software
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
• Able to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
• Regular and reliable attendance at work
