Since 1952, State Electric Supply Co. has been a leader in the electrical distribution industry, offering unmatched service and expertise across 41 locations in 7 states. Now, we’re looking for a dedicated and motivated Purchasing Agent to join our team and help us deliver excellence to our customers!

The Purchasing Agent Will Be Responsible For

• Procure inventory products in compliance with established company guidelines and procedures.
• Track and monitor deliveries, delays and discrepancies.
• Communicate with internal teams to ensure inventory needs are met.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, shipping documents, and vendor communications.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned vendors.
  
  

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree or B.Sc. in Logistics, Purchase and Supply, Business Administration or related fields are typically preferred).
• At least two years of experience in a purchasing position preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory and supply management systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationships.
• Direct experience with spreadsheet computer applications.
• Ability to use purchasing software.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt often, and be flexible.
