Job summary

TCCI Manufacturing in Decatur, IL is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our expanding purchasing team. You will manage sourcing, supplier relationships, pricing and delivery to support electrical and mechanical compressor products.

Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to meet cost, quality and production targets. Interface with North American suppliers, conduct on-site audits, and drive cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3 or more years direct experience in procurement or related supply chain function.
• Knowledge of International and Domestic purchasing practices and procedures.
• Negotiation and problem resolution skills.
• Proficiency in software applications like Microsoft Office, ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle), and procurement-related systems.
• Ability to manage the business relationships between TCCI and suppliers while implementing corrective actions when expectations are not being met.
• Ability to strategically evaluate the engineering, manufacturing, and quality systems for each supplier.
• Supplier development based on APQP and PPAP processes.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Experience with technical systems, applications and industry standards of purchased commodities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain supply base that operates in partnership with TCCI to deliver the best quality products for the lowest acquisition cost.
• Develop, maintain, and support both global and regional sourcing strategies.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Responsible for the management of and contribution to Purchasing and Engineering projects.
• Identify, assess, and develop new and existing suppliers across North America.
• Ensure that the best suppliers are being selected to support TCCI’s objectives, through on-site audits and evaluations of products, operations, and systems.
• Achieve net reduction in annualized material purchase cost.
• Negotiate pricing and terms that meet TCCI’s annual inflation and financial objectives.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules. Implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor contract compliance.
• Ensure supplier selection and initial price establishment meets and or exceeds both schedule and cost objectives, per project schedule.
• Develop new proposals with suppliers resulting in lower cost and/or improved quality.

Role Overview

TCCI is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our growing Decatur, Illinois based Purchasing organization and support our electrical compressor, mechanical compressor, and systems products. This role will manage sourcing and purchasing activities, supplier relationships, pricing, and delivery while partnering with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure materials meet our cost, quality, and production needs. The Purchasing Agent will also work with suppliers to develop solutions that support our manufacturing, design, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Supply Base Management and Performance

• Establish and maintain assigned supply base that operates in partnership with TCCI to deliver the best quality products for the lowest acquisition cost
• Develop, maintain, and support both global and regional sourcing strategies
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.

Pay Rate: $60,000 – $75,000 annually

Schedule: First Shift – 8-hour workday. The specific schedule will be mutually agreed upon by the employee and manager based on business needs.
