Job summary

Martin Inc., headquartered in Florence, AL, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to buy materials, equipment, supplies, and services in accordance with purchasing regulations and procedures.

The role covers all aspects of acquiring materials and services, maintains vendor relationships, analyzes requisitions and purchase orders, and supports inventory accuracy to ensure timely payments and optimal operations for our manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication/analytical skill.
• Ability to sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Examine and analyze daily purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
• Determine the appropriate processing method for purchases.
• Provide insights on supplier performance.
• Prepare and analyze purchase orders according to procedures.
• Work with data team to correct system to support proper purchasing function.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Resolve purchase order discrepancies promptly to ensure timely payment to supplier, and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain effective vendor relationships through communication and collaboration.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Summary:
