Job summary

Consigli Construction in Washington, DC is seeking a Purchaser for a full-time role on our project teams. You will hire subcontractors and vendors, define trade package scopes, and procure materials to keep projects on schedule and on budget.

You will work closely with estimators and project managers, lead bid processes, draft subcontracts and purchase agreements, and build durable relationships with subcontractors while upholding quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or relevant field.
  • 6–10 years of experience in construction management, procurement, or similar role.
  • Experience with schedules, drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with review of estimates and/or budgets for construction projects.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Hire subcontractors and vendors for specific construction projects.
  • Define concise trade package scopes of work prior to buying these packages.
  • Collaborate with project team members, including the Estimator and Project Manager, to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Oversee the prequalification, bid solicitation, and award processes for subcontractors and vendors.
  • Conduct risk analysis related to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Write subcontracts and material purchase agreements.
  • Organize and lead meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Facilitate and lead proposal (scope of work), review meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

The Purchaseris responsible forhiring subcontractors and vendors for specific Consigli Construction projects.The purchaser will be assigned and work collaboratively with members of the project team including the Estimator and Project manager, to complete this function on time and on budget.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or relevant fieldrequired.
  • 6-10 years of experience in construction management, procurement or similar rolerequired, preferably in the construction field.
  • Experiencewith andgeneral comprehension of construction schedules,drawingsand specifications.
  • Experience with review of estimates and/or budgets for construction projects and evaluating subcontractor proposals.
  • Strong computer skills andproficiencyin Microsoft Officerequired.
