Job summary

Stryten Energy is seeking a Plant Purchaser to procure materials, manage inventory, and support production scheduling at our Georgia site. You will issue POs, track orders, and work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and optimal stock levels.

Ideal candidates have a 3+ years purchasing experience in manufacturing, and are proficient with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office. This on-site role offers growth within a leading energy storage solutions company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of vendors, customers, dealers, co-workers and management in order to achieve optimum plant performance.
  • Familiarity with inventory control and production planning concepts.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or similar tools).

Responsibilities

  • Adjust schedules as needed based on supply constraints or changes in demand.
  • Ensure materials are available in alignment with production timelines.
  • Address shipment discrepancies or delays with vendors and logistics providers.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.

The Plant Purchaser is responsible for the procurement of all necessary materials and office supplies while also supporting inventory control, production scheduling, and shipping/receiving activities for the site. This role plays a key part to ensure the timely availability of materials to meet production demands while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supplier performance.


Responsibilities


  • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders and tracking order status

  • Source materials and components to support production requirements

  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new vendors as needed

  • Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and resolve issues

  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.

  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules

  • Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP or procurement systems

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock is maintained

  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory processes

  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies

  • Partner with operations to optimize inventory turns and minimize excess/obsolete stock

  • Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules based on material availability and demand

  • Coordinate with production and operations teams to align priorities

  • Adjust schedules as needed based on supply constraints or changes in demand

  • Ensure materials are available in alignment with production timelines

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with carriers and internal teams

  • Support receiving processes, including verification of shipments against purchase orders

  • Ensure accurate documentation for shipments (packing slips, BOLs, etc.)

  • Address shipment discrepancies or delays with vendors and logistics providers

  • Additional responsibilities as neededto support the team and company goals.


Qualifications


  • High school diploma required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Regular use of safety glasses and steel toed shoes. Limited use of respirator. Vision requirements; close vision.
