Job Description

The F&B Purchasing and Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring all food, beverage, and non-food deliveries are received, inspected, and coincide with an approved purchase order. They log all incoming/outgoing guest packages, maintain an effective filing system for purchase orders and delivery status, conduct inventories on all storerooms and coolers to ensure adequate supplies for the hotel in the absence of the purchaser, and promptly review and fill all department requisitions.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Progressive experience in a hotel.
  • Ability to understand and utilize basic computer equipment and applications, including word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to understand and utilize hotel computerized purchasing systems and food and beverage inventory systems.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to meet deadlines routinely.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills to handle workplace issues, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources and adapt as needed.
  • Good listening skills to understand and clarify concerns of co-workers and guests.
  • Basic understanding of financial information, data, and arithmetic functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with all Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Be attentive, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and colleagues.
  • Answer department phones and respond to vendors, guests, and employee needs.
  • Assist in preparing interdepartmental or external correspondence.
  • Ensure proper receiving procedures to maintain product freshness.
  • Assist with inventory counts and maintaining storage areas.
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
