Job summary

Canine Companions is seeking a Puppy Program Field Representative to support puppy classes regionally, including travel. You will work with puppy raisers, assess dogs, and assist in recruitment and outreach to communities about our mission and program.

The role requires extensive travel, strong customer service and organizational skills, and experience with volunteers and dogs under 24 months. A passion for guiding service dog training is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of apprenticeship at an Assistance Dogs International or International Guide Dog Federation accredited school.
• Two years’ experience with an Assistance Dogs International membership organization.
• Two years’ experience working with volunteers.
• Two years’ experience working with dogs aged 0-24 months.
• Experience planning logistics and communicating.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist puppy classes across the region, including out-of-state travel.
• Follow up with puppy raisers on behavior and health issues.
• Transport puppies to airports and to raisers or region.
• Assist in recruitment of new puppy raisers and educate communities about the program.
• Coordinate flow of puppies in/out of regions with volunteer and travel teams.
• Provide regional support during PTO, vacancies and coverage needs.
• Train Puppy Class Leaders and teach classes.
• Conduct twelve-month puppy assessments.
• Support Puppy Workshops and fundraisers.
