Job summary

NTC Language Services is seeking a compassionate Punjabi Bilingual Individual Aide to provide one-on-one support to students in educational settings in New York. This role focuses on language-accessible education and student development.

The aide will assist with IEP implementation, behavior plans, and daily activities while facilitating communication between students, families, and staff in Punjabi and English. A strong commitment to confidentiality and student-centered care is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing both Punjabi and English.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities.
• Reliable transportation to assigned school locations.
• Fingerprint clearance and New York State employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one instructional and behavioral support to students throughout the school day.
• Assist with implementing IEPs, behavior plans, and classroom goals.
• Support communication between the student, teachers, school staff, and families in both Punjabi and English.
• Reinforce classroom instruction and assist with educational activities.
• Promote student independence, engagement, and social-emotional development.
• Assist with classroom organization and lesson preparation.
• Support positive behavior intervention strategies.
• Collect observational data and document student progress as directed.
• Assist students with activities of daily living when required.
