Overview

Cadrex is searching for a Punch Press Operator I to produce parts from metal using a punch press, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) equipment that makes precision cuts and punches into metal. Punch Operators monitor machines to ensure they operate at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials, and are well-maintained.

Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Measure completed work to verify conformance to specifications using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, and/or rulers.
  • Examine finished work for defects and sort defective pieces accordingly.
  • Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications.
  • Load work into the machine, set-up, and monitor operations.
  • Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, using gauges and hand tools.
  • Install, align, and lock punches, dies, or blades using gauges, templates, and hand tools.
  • Clean and lubricate machines.
  • Position and secure work against fixtures or stops.
  • Perform periodic checks on output and perform typical machine shop operations.
  • Detect and report defective materials or conditions.
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures.
  • Perform quality inspections and document results.
  • Uphold site efficiency standards and demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Meet site attendance policies and assist in other work areas as assigned.
