Job summary

Eaton is hiring a Punch Press Operator (Die Setter) for the Fayetteville, NC site on the Weekend Shift. Core hours are 6AM–6PM, Friday through Sunday, with a 11.12% weekend shift premium.

The role involves setting dies, operating punch presses, and supporting fabrication teams in a climate-controlled environment. Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of die-setting experience; forklift operation capability is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of six months experience setting dies in a manufacturing environment.
• This role does not provide immigration sponsorship or CPT/OPT/STEM OPT visas.
• No relocation offered; candidates must live within 50 miles of Fayetteville, NC; active-duty military exempt.

Responsibilities

• Operate punch presses and other metal-fabrication equipment; ensure parts and documentation reach next process.
• Prepare materials and perform deburring, grinding, and cleaning per instructions.
• Move dies and material with forklift; assist lower-level operators as needed.
• Keep accurate records of part counts, and report quality issues to Supervisor.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and observe health, hygiene, and safety policies.

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Punch Press Operator (Die Setter) (Weekend Shift) at our Fayetteville, NC site! The hourly rate for this position is $23.00-$29.76 per hour 11.12% shift premium for weekend shift hours worked per hour.

CORE HOURS: 6AM - 6PM (FRIDAY - SUNDAY)

What you’ll do:

• Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions.
• Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas.
• Provide assistance to lower - level sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required.
• Deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment, position work material on coil cradle / feeder. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion.
• Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components.
• Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation / record keeping may be required.
• Operate punch presses and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems.
• Transport die for installation and calibration using forklift.
• Maintenance of equipment such as punches, dies, hydraulic clamping systems, material feeder systems, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion, keeping oil deposits off of floor.
• Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified.
• Dismantle previous set-ups after termination of order. Move dies to tool room if sharpening or maintenance is required.
• Adjust all presses with power and / or automatic feeds at initial set-up and during production.
• Clear jams and malfunctions. Administer trial runs and first-part inspection.
• Accountable for proper operation and placement of all safety-related equipment during set-up, operator briefing and production.

Qualifications:

• Must have a High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Must have a minimum of six months experience setting dies in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with machine operation
• Previous experience with operating a punch press machine

Skills:

• Demonstrated proficiency with drawings and/or blueprints.
• Able to drive a forklift and obtain forklift certification.
