Qualifications

• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Degree or related area.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Pump Technician or similar role.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift equipment not exceeding 50 lbs.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Travel willingness to cover all 50 states.

Responsibilities

• Review project specs and drawings to ensure codes/standards compliance.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers to ensure proper pump system installation.
• Perform pre-functional testing and commissioning of pump systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pump system issues.
• Conduct flow tests to verify pump operation.
• Document testing results and commissioning findings for the customer.

Job Summary

Our company is currently seeking a skilled Pump Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper installation and operation of pumps and their associated systems. The Pump Technician will work on a variety of pump systems.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Review project specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure that pump systems are installed correctly.
• Conduct pre-functional testing and commissioning of pump systems to ensure that they are operating correctly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with pump systems.
• Conduct flow tests on pumps to ensure proper operation.
• Document and report on the results of testing and commissioning to the Customer.
• Document all work performed and maintain accurate records. (Writing/ Photographs)
• Communicate with customers and provide excellent customer service.
• Staying up to date with the latest fire protection technologies, codes, and standards.

Requirements

• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Degree or related area.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Pump Technician or similar role
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift equipment not exceeding 50 LBS.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fire pump systems, including electric, diesel, and jockey pumps.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to provide quotations.
• Ability to use electrical testing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to travel within all 50 States.
