Job summary

Cemstone is seeking a Pump Operator in Minnesota to perform pre-trip inspections, safely operate concrete pumps, and set up equipment at project sites. You will drive to sites, pump concrete per client directions, and ensure cleanup and paperwork are completed efficiently.

The role requires safety focus, basic math, and English communication skills, with competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Language Skills: Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Mathematical Skills: Must be able to perform simple math such as addition and subtraction.

• Reasoning Ability: Must be able to deal with customers in stressful situations.
• Must safely operate pump truck and perform tasks that are in line with policy and laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspection of concrete pumps per DOT regulations.
• Fill water tank and ensure valves are shut before starting.
• Safely drive to project site and set up pump in a safe position.
• Pump concrete as directed by customer while maintaining safety.
• Clean pump systems after completion and report status to dispatch.
• Communicate project status to dispatch via radio or phone.
• Complete paperwork and handle any required payments before leaving site.
• Perform post-trip inspection and coordinate maintenance as needed.

Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pre-trip inspection of concrete pumps pursuant to DOT regulations. Pre-trip inspection includes checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes and other driver operated controls such as hydraulic systems, line systems, and hydraulics.
• Fills water tank before each project by placing rubber hose into water tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
• Safely drives to project site that is assigned.
• Uses map book and experience and takes most direct route to job site to ensure on time service.
• Safely drives concrete pump into site and works with contractor or homeowner to set up pump in a safe position.
• Pump concrete pursuant to customer desire with respect to yards per hour in the safest manner.
• Upon completion, operator will clean out pump systems in the project where desired by contractor or homeowner, in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Keep pump dispatch informed as to the status of projects via two-way radio, digital pagers, and cellular phones, if available.
• Prior to leaving of site, driver is responsible for completing all paperwork and collection of monies if necessary.
• Each operator is responsible to call callout each day for start time.
• Each operator is expected to perform a post trip inspection of the concrete pump pursuant to DOT standards and the communications with maintenance is imperative.
• If not billed out on a pump and called to work, operator may be asked to work or clean on pump, drive ready mix truck, assist mechanics in the shop, assist at a batch or other related duties.
• Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers. Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company and ensure timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Other duties as assigned by the VP/GM & Pump Dispatch.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have education or the equivalent experience, certificates, licenses, and registrations for pump operations.

• Reasoning Ability: Must be able to deal with customers and other employees in a diplomatic manner in a variety of stressful situations.
• Must safely operate pump truck and perform tasks that are congruent with company policy, and within state and federal laws.

Pay:

$36.75 to $46.15 per hour
