Job description

Position Summary

The position is accountable for the operation of a Concrete Pump Truck that transfers concrete to job sites for the most demanding construction applications. Our fleet consists of late model Schwing 32 to 43 meter pumps.

Specific Responsibilities

• Drives concrete pump trucks to and from each project site in a punctual and responsible manner.
• Evaluates site conditions and establishes communication with the superintendent to park / set up the truck properly.
• Operates boom and concrete pump to place concrete in desired locations, placing special focus on provided instructions.
• Loads and unload concrete pump attachments and ensures that all associated tools are used in a safe manner.
• Cleans concrete pumps at the end of the day to ensure that they remain in good working condition, and to minimize breakdowns and downtimes.
• Ascertains that all safety and precautionary measures are put into place before, during and after each project.
• Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Keeps a daily log of vehicle and job performance.
• Is responsible and accountable for incumbent’s own personal safety.
• All employees, current and former, must maintain confidentiality by not disclosing to others any confidential, proprietary or trade secret information belonging to the Company.
• Is responsible and accountable for the safety of all co-workers and any others incumbent comes in contact with.
• Has the authority and obligation to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed.
• Complies with all applicable laws, regulations and Company policies and procedures, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so.
• Reports all violations of applicable laws, regulations or Company policies and procedures promptly, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so.
• Performs other related administrative and technical duties that may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision (such as certification training, safety training, procedure review, etc.).

Position Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Commercial Driver License is required. High school education preferred.

Physical/Mental Requirements

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.

This may include hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
• Must have the ability to identify critical issues and formulate action plans with all levels of management.
• Must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel.
• Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency situation arise.
