Caterpillar Inc. Midland, Texas is seeking a Pump Mechanic I to assemble, service, maintain and repair reciprocating pumps including gear boxes and end assemblies. The role includes travel about 5% and a schedule of 10 days on, 4 days off with overtime potential.

Pay starts at $28.45/hour with possible adjustment for experience. Candidates must be 21+, have a clean driving record, and demonstrate related pump mechanic experience and knowledge of oil and gas equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record: no more than 2 moving violations in 12 months.
• No more than three moving violations in the past three years.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
• Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment.
• Experience as a pump mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, strip and inspect pumps and components as required.
• Assist during the disassemble phase and prepare for detailed inspections.
• Dismantle pumps and pump parts as directed; haul to machine and test shops.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate repair needs and root causes for listed pump models.
• Maintain a clean work area and strictly use PPE as required.
• Follow SOPs and risk assessments; communicate findings to supervisors.
