Job summary

Tradesmen International is actively hiring Pump Mechanics for Axis, AL. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial pumps and rotating equipment on first shift, with a pay rate of $22-$25/hour based on experience.

You will inspect, disassemble, rebuild, and align pumping systems, read drawings, and document service records while collaborating with customers and teams in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience repairing industrial pumps or rotating equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical failures on industrial pumps and rotating equipment
• Inspect, disassemble, clean, rebuild, and reassemble pumps and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and complete pump overhauls
• Install, align, and commission new pumping equipment
• Read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and repair documentation
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate service records
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and team members
• Assist with field service assignments as needed

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Pump Mechanics for projects located in or around Axis, AL. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $22-$25/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:

• Diagnose mechanical failures on industrial pumps and rotating equipment
• Inspect, disassemble, clean, rebuild, and reassemble pumps and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and complete pump overhauls
• Install, align, and commission new pumping equipment
• Read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and repair documentation
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate service records
• Recommend repair options and replacement parts
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and team members
• Assist with field service assignments as needed

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years of experience repairing industrial pumps or rotating equipment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Experience with centrifugal pumps, AODD pumps, positive displacement pumps, rotary lobe pumps, gear pumps, vacuum pumps, mechanical seals, bearing installation, laser alignment, vibration analysis, and predictive maintenance is preferred
• Industrial maintenance, millwright, or rotating equipment experience is highly valued
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crouch, and climb throughout the workday
• Comfortable working in shop and industrial plant environments around machinery, noise, heat, cold, and dusty conditions
• Ability to safely operate forklifts; training provided if needed
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen upon hire
