Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Senior Pulsed Power Engineer to research, develop, test, and integrate complex electronic and RF subsystems for Directed Energy programs supporting DoD warfighters.

You will design, fabricate, test, and analyze systems and mentor junior staff, while expanding cross-disciplinary capabilities in mechanical and systems engineering.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of pulsed power research, development and test.
  • 5+ years with high voltage, spark gaps and fast transient diagnostics.
  • 2+ years in laboratory or field-testing environments.
  • Experience conducting both basic and applied research.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation for pulsed power systems.
  • Experience with EMI and EMC.
  • Ability to work in high voltage environments.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplined team.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, down-select, fabricate, test and integrate complex electronic/RF subsystems.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff and share engineering expertise.
  • Perform laboratory and field testing of DE/pulsed power systems.
  • Broaden skillset into mechanical and systems engineering domains.
  • Contribute to DoD weapon system development and integration.

We’re looking for an electrical engineer who can use their skills to research, analyze, down-select, fabricate, test, and integrate complex electronic and RF subsystems and components to advance our non-kinetic weapon portfolio for our DoD warfighters.

You Have
  • 5+ years of experience in pulsed power research, development, and test and evaluation of a wide variety of pulsed power systems
  • 5+ years of experience with high voltage, high peak power spark gaps, high voltage power supplies, and fast transient diagnostics
  • 2+ years of experience in laboratory or field-testing environments, including setting test goals, developing test met hodologies, organizing and conducting tests, reducing test data, and analyzing results
  • Experience conducting both basic and applied research
  • Experience with modeling and simulation programs for pulsed power systems
  • Experience with electromagnetic interference ( EMI ) and electromagnetic compatibility ( EMC )
  • Ability to work in high voltage environments
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
Nice If You Have
  • Experience in combat or weapon system development, design, and integration for the U.S. Navy or other Armed Services
  • Experience conducting testing for weapon effectiveness
  • Experience conducting RDT & E activities for DE systems
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Science
