Job description

The Division of Surgery and the Division of Cancer Medicine at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center are seeking a fellowship-trained, academically-oriented Interventional Pulmonologist to join our cancer program.

About the Location and Program

Located on the flagship campus of Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, a 500+ bed tertiary-care facility in a vibrant urban setting, our interventional pulmonology program includes:

  1. Our lung cancer screening program (>2000 patients/year)
  2. Pulmonary nodule clinic
  3. Diagnosis and management of pleural diseases and central airway obstruction
  4. Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  5. Lung cancer staging
  6. Support for stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy programs
  7. Evaluation and management of cancer-related or therapy-related pulmonary conditions

Experience with both simple and complex airway and pleural procedures is expected. Opportunities for professional growth and leadership are available for physicians with relevant experience.

Candidate Qualifications and Responsibilities
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved program in Pulmonary Medicine / Critical Care and Interventional Pulmonology; and eligibility for an unrestricted Florida Medical License
  • Commitment to our multidisciplinary cancer care model
  • Support of clinical, scholarly, and educational missions, including developing protocols, improving quality metrics, and scholarly work
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills to build a clinical practice, develop scholarship, and recruit faculty
  • Primary appointment in the Division of Surgery, Section of Thoracic Surgery, and a joint appointment in the Division of Cancer Medicine
  • Recommendation for an adjunct appointment at MD Anderson Cancer Center, based on achievement
  • Ability to influence program direction and align with our mission of Making Cancer History
