Job summary

Sapphire at Maple Crest in Belvidere, IL is seeking a Pulmonary Treatment Specialist (RN) to join our dedicated team. In this role you will direct day-to-day nursing assistant activities, admit/transfer/discharge residents, prepare and administer medications, and collaborate with inter-departmental staff to ensure high-quality resident care.

A current Illinois RN license is required, with experience in pulmonary care preferred; strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills are

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Nursing License required.
• Experience in pulmonary care or respiratory therapy preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants; plan shift services and activities.
• Provide written and oral reports about shift activities and resident movements.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required and provide leadership to staff.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel to ensure adequate nursing services.
• Monitor safety in use of equipment and supplies by assigned personnel.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.

Responsibilities for Pulmonary Treatment Specialist:

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants. Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shift’s services, programs and activities.
• Make written & oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required. Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required. Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift.
• Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop & maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Monitor your assigned personnel to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.

Qualifications for Pulmonary Treatment Specialist:

• Current Illinois Nursing License (Required)
• Experience in pulmonary care or respiratory therapy in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
• This position involves a physical component, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, and perform other tasks that involve physical activity.
