Job summary

Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) in Washington DC is seeking a Pulmonary Technologist to measure, analyze, and record pulmonary function procedures and perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing for patients in the clinic and on units. You will work under a physician and lab coordinator/manager within the Pulmonary Laboratory, ensuring QA/QC, training staff, and maintaining standards.

The position requires up-to-date CPR (BLS) certification and NBRC credentialing.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with certificate in respiratory therapy OR Associate's degree in respiratory therapy OR Bachelor's degree in health science or biology.
  • One year (12 months) experience in a pulmonary function lab, preferably in an academic/research environment.
  • CPR (BLS) certification required.
  • Credentialing through the N.B.R.C. as a respiratory care practitioner or pulmonary function technologist required (certification and/or registry). Must maintain certification throughout employment.
  • If not credentialed, must become credentialed within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, analyze, and record pulmonary function procedures.
  • Perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing.
  • Serve as a go-to resource within the Pulmonary Laboratory.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Train new employees and troubleshoot equipment issues.
