Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, VA New Jersey Health Care System, Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, seeks a physician specialized in adult pulmonary and sleep medicine to provide ambulatory services at the East Orange campus.

The position involves evaluation and longitudinal management of a broad range of pulmonary and sleep disorders, with potential inpatient coverage and opportunities for academic appointment with the VA network.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and unrestricted medical license required
• MD or equivalent in allopathic/osteopathic medicine
• Graduate residency trained in approved program leading to board eligibility
• Eligible to practice in the United States without supervision
• Board certification/eligibility in Pulmonary/Critical Care and Sleep Medicine preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine services
• Evaluate and manage a broad range of pulmonary and sleep disorders
• Manage sleep-disordered breathing and related conditions
• Order and interpret sleep studies and lab evaluations
• Participate in inpatient coverage and administrative/quality initiatives
• Teach residents and fellows rotating through the department
