Lung Transplant Physician Job Opportunity

Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a Lung Transplant Physician to join an established team. Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) is the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States. Serving a diverse population across North and Central Texas, BSWH provides quality care and aims to create a model system for a changing healthcare environment. The system includes 47 hospitals, over 900 access points, more than 6,600 physicians, and 43,500 employees, along with the Scott and White Health Plan and Baylor Quality Health Care Alliance LLC, focused on improving quality, managing patient populations, and reducing costs.

Summary of the Position

The successful candidate will evaluate, manage, and treat patients undergoing lung transplantation. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving lives. The Center for Advanced Heart & Lung Disease actively participates in research, clinical trials, and registries. It has a strong team of specialists in heart and lung transplantation, ECMO, and pulmonary thromboembolectomy. Baylor University Medical Center is a tertiary care institution committed to medical education, with opportunities for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Academic appointment will be commensurate with experience.

Candidate Qualifications
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship in Lung Transplantation or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in evaluation and management of advanced lung disease, including transplant candidates
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration
