Job summary

Park Nicollet Health Services in Minnesota is seeking a Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our team. The role focuses on diagnostic pulmonary function testing and cardiopulmonary studies, following department policies, and interacting with staff to provide comprehensive care.

The position requires independent action with guidance from the ordering clinician, flexibility, critical thinking, and multi-tasking. Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with benefits and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy school.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • BLS certification.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, critical thinking, problem solving and multi-tasking; effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic pulmonary function testing according to policies and procedures.
  • Interact with colleagues to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Follow department protocols and the direction of the ordering clinician.
  • Perform nocturnal oximetry studies, arterial blood gases, and induced sputum collection.
  • Administer nebulizer therapy and complete qualifying walks for home oxygen therapy.

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary

The Pulmonary Function Technologist will primarily conduct diagnostic pulmonary function testing, according to the department and organization policies and procedures. He or she will interact with colleagues to provide comprehensive care.

The Pulmonary Function Technologist role is a specialized position and requires independent action and decision making, while also following the direction of the ordering clinician. The role requires flexibility, excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to multi-task.

This position performs pulmonary function testing and cardiopulmonary diagnostic studies in accordance with department protocols. This role will also perform other respiratory testing duties, including but not limited to, nocturnal oximetry studies, obtaining arterial blood gases, collecting induced sputum samples, nebulizer therapy & qualifying walks (for home oxygen therapy).

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Required Qualifications
  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy school.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist.
    • BLS
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to exercise good judgement, critical thinking, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills are a necessity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • 2 years’ experience as a respiratory therapist
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Experience in pulmonary function testing.
