Essen Health Care is seeking a skilled Pulmonary Function Technician (PFT Tech) in the Bronx, NY to perform diagnostic pulmonary testing and support providers in managing respiratory conditions. Candidates should have an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field, BLS certification, and experience in pulmonary diagnostics. At Essen Health Care, we care for that! We are looking for a skilled Pulmonary Function Technician (PFT Tech) in the Bronx to perform diagnostic pulmonary testing and support providers in the diagnosis and management of respiratory conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary function tests including spirometry, lung volumes (plethysmography), and diffusion capacity (DLCO)
• Prepare and educate patients on testing procedures
• Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout testing
• Accurately document and upload results into EMR
• Assist providers with interpretation and reporting of test data
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot PFT equipment
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and quality standards
• Maintain infection control and equipment sterilization procedures

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred
• Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) preferred
• Prior experience performing pulmonary function testing required
• Knowledge of pulmonary diagnostics and respiratory care practices
• BLS certification required
• Strong attention to detail and patient‑care skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience with both adult and geriatric populations
• Familiarity with EMR systems (EPIC a plus)
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced outpatient setting
