Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a Pulmonary Function Technologist to set up and run respiratory tests on patients and assist in diagnosing and monitoring lung disease across hospitals, clinics and other facilities.

You will explain tests to patients, maintain equipment, manage supplies, and collaborate with physicians and health care teams to ensure accurate results and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Must obtain RQI eCredential within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS may be required by some departments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient hemodynamic and ECG response to exercise.
• Follow precautions to ensure patient safety.
• Complete billing records within departmental standards.
• Consult with physicians to recommend testing procedures.
• Identify changes in patient condition and act accordingly.
• Utilize medical records and pulmonary databases.
• Participate in quality assurance activities.
• Assist in orienting new employees.
