Qualifications

  • Completion of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship required.
  • Additional training or demonstrated expertise in Interventional Pulmonology (fellowship preferred but not required).
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine.
  • Eligibility for Ohio state medical licensure.
  • Commitment to clinical excellence and team-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care for patients with complex pulmonary and critical care conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform and advance interventional pulmonology procedures (bronchoscopy, EBUS, central airway management, pleural procedures).
  • Participate in ICU coverage, pulmonary consults, and procedural calls.
  • Collaborate with thoracic surgery, oncology, radiology, pathology, and anesthesia in a multidisciplinary model.
  • Contribute to program development, quality initiatives, and conferences; engage in teaching and mentorship.

Job description

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Pulmonary Critical Care Physician with advanced training or a focused clinical interest in Interventional Pulmonology to support the growing needs of our Canton and South Region practices. This opportunity is ideal for a physician interested in building and expanding interventional pulmonology services within a nationally recognized health system while maintaining a strong foundation in pulmonary and critical care medicine. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine services, with a dedicated focus on advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventional pulmonology procedures. This role supports Cleveland Clinic's expanding need for complex airway and pleural disease management across inpatient and outpatient settings. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care for patients with complex pulmonary and critical care conditions in both inpatient and outpatient environments

  • Perform and advance interventional pulmonology procedures, including but not limited to:

    • Advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy

    • Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)

    • Management of central airway disease

    • Pleural procedures and complex pleural disease management

  • Participate in intensive care unit coverage, pulmonary consult services, and procedural call

  • Collaborate closely with thoracic surgery, oncology, radiology, pathology, and anesthesia colleagues in a multidisciplinary care model

  • Contribute to program development, quality initiatives, and multidisciplinary conferences as applicable

  • Engage in teaching and mentorship of residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers, consistent with Cleveland Clinic's academic mission

Qualifications

  • Additional training or demonstrated expertise in Interventional Pulmonology (formal fellowship preferred but not required)

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in:

    • Internal Medicine

    • Critical Care Medicine

  • Eligibility for Ohio state medical licensure

Salary Range $380,000 - 485,000 / Year

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires and is for a 100%, full-time employment (FTE). A successful candidate's actual compensation will be consistent with fair market value and determined after taking various factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, % of FTE and board certification. This is not inclusive of the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package, which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision, and retirement.
